Origin "Ywe" and "Horst"
"Ywe" is the old name for Yew. A horst is a (sand) altitude in a swampy area. The name IJhorst therefore says something about the original landscape: a high-altitude settlement, on which many yew bushes grew.Starting point: Kroko MultiPunt, Heerenweg 42, 7955 PE IJhorst.
